12 Months to Live by James Patterson and Mike Lupica

Released 2023.09.18   | Finished 2024.05.02| Borrowed from local library

Defense attorney Jane Smith has a client that she cannot control, and she does not believe. He is a rich, privileged, spoiled, married man who is on trial for the murder a young woman and her parents. The more information her partner-investigator, Jimmy Cunniff, discovers, the more guilty the client, Rob Jacobson, looks. The client’s behavior is very indicative of a person who thinks he can do anything he wants, say anything he wants, and be immune to the people who will judge him in the press and in the courtroom. Perhaps, the only situation that keeps out of more trouble is that he is locked up from arrest until trial.

Jane is running a defense after she learns from her best woman friend and doctor that she has cancer in her neck and head. Jane wants to finish the trial before she starts treatment thinking that the case may be her last. Up until the time of this trial, she has won all her court cases, but so has the district attorney, and they are both good at what they do.

Many twists and turns.

Author: Another Armchair Opinion

Retired, full of opinions. I really didn't like that about older people when I was young. Perspectives change and time goes by. I do a lot of reading (see book reviews which does not cover the scope of my reading) and a lot of writing (that is not here yet but in notebooks that are acting as journals and allows me to blow-off steam there and a released novel under the name of Leona Halmer). There is little rhyme or reason to the topics I might tackle outside of the book reviews as each moment brings another chance to have another armchair opinion
